In the past 70 years since the founding of new China, especially since the beginning of reform and opening up, Dezhou has embraced the world in a more open manner. Exports have enhanced the capacity of industrial development, the product structure has been further optimized, and foreign trade has been developing vigorously.

In 1987, Dezhou's first foreign invested enterprise "plain Lu Fei Knitting Co., Ltd." was set up. In 1993, the first self export marked that Dezhou enterprises began to enter the international market and participate in international competition.

From "selling textile raw materials" to "selling high-end equipment", Dezhou's foreign trade scale increased from 760 thousand US dollars in 1990 to US $4 billion 300 million in 2018, which has increased by more than 5000 times.

Behind this change is the upgrading of Dezhou's trade structure. In the past 70 years, the structure of Dezhou's foreign trade has escalated from the increase in barter, processing trade to general trade. In 1999, the proportion of processing trade in Dezhou was 70.5%. By the end of last year, the proportion of general trade reached 90.2%.

With the completion of Dezhou's industrial system, more and more independent brands, independent intellectual property rights and high-tech products have been exported. Last year, the export of electromechanical products and high-tech products accounted for 58% in Dezhou, 55 percentage points higher than in 1999.

Nowadays, as China's opening door is bigger and bigger, the "circle of friends" of Dezhou's cargo trade is also increasing, and the trading partners have developed to 235. Emerging markets and the "along the way" countries are becoming the new growth point of Dezhou's foreign trade.
