Liu Guangjian, 52 years old, has a dark face, a stocky body and a simple dress. He comes from a small mountain village in Pengzhou, Sichuan.

According to Liu Guangjian, in 1971, when he was only 15 years old, he joined the army and became a soldier in a certain part of the Shenyang military region. During this period, he kept up with Comrade Lei Feng everywhere and went wherever he could to do good deeds.

The troops therefore recorded two equal and three equal work for him.

In 1973, the army also issued the call to learn from Comrade Liu Guangjian, and compiled the song "learning from Comrade Liu Guangjian", granting him the honorable title of "learning Lei Feng's pacesetter". Since then, he has become an example and model for Lei Feng in the army and local studies.

In March 1975, Liu Guangjian was demobilized back to his hometown in Sichuan, and was recommended to be sent to Chengdu meteorological College for further studies.

After graduation, Liu Guangjian took the initiative to choose the hardship of Tibet, and worked as a civil servant in the agriculture and animal husbandry hall of Tibet autonomous region, where he worked for 20 years.

On the eve of the Spring Festival of 1999, despite his family's dissuade, Liu Guangjian resolutely resigned from the work of the agriculture and Animal Husbandry Department of the Tibet autonomous region and studied his shoeshine skills with great concentration. He began his long march of Lei Feng from Tibet.

Liu Guangjian said he had been alone for 9 years and walked through 94 cities. He received 404 special disciples and taught them skills to polish shoes, so that they could successfully reemployment.

But what makes him feel guilty is that he cares little for his wife and daughter. He travels all the year round, buying dozens of dollars per day with his shoes, buying shoes polishing tools for the disabled, paying his own living expenses, living very hard, and never sending a cent to his family.

As soon as the new year is over, when he looks at other people's happy family reunion, he feels a little lost, missing his wife and daughter in the distance.

However, the most uncomfortable thing for him is that some people do not understand.

In Linhe City, an old man looked at Lei Feng's billboard and said, "how many of your shoeshine workers can change the atmosphere of today's society?"

One evening, he was helping people polish their shoes. A young man came up to provoke, mocking him for "putting on airs" and claiming to "repair" him. In Taiyuan, Shanxi, a well-dressed man refused to give money after wiping his shoes. Someone in Shanxi and Chizhou even stolen the bronze statue of chairman Mao on his car.

"In spite of this, there are still many good people. I rely on everyone's help on this road."

Liu Guangjian is very optimistic about the goal of helping 1000 people. He said he would stick to it.
