The total annual import value of machine parts and accessories is about 186 million US dollars, accounting for 28% of the total value of Thailand machine tool imports.

In order to enhance the ratio of enterprises to use local production resources and reduce the trade deficit, the Thailand Investment Promotion Committee has also proposed revising the current import tax reduction and exemption policy for machinery and raw materials to encourage foreign investment.

In recent years, the import and export trade between Thailand and China has maintained a relatively rapid development.

As China's third largest export market and the second largest source of imports, China has bilateral trade ties closer and closer.

According to Thailand customs statistics, the total trade volume between China and Thailand reached 20 billion 250 million US dollars in 2005, an increase of 32.7% over the same period last year.

Among them, Thailand exported $9 billion 100 million to China, an increase of 28.5% over the previous year, an increase of 4 percentage points over the previous year, and an import of 11 billion 150 million dollars from China, an increase of 36.4% over the previous year, an increase of 1.5 percentage points over the previous year, and a Thai trade deficit of 2 billion 50 million US dollars.

Compared with 2004, the proportion of China's imports and exports in Thailand increased in 2005, and the proportion in total imports increased by 0.8 percentage points to 9.4%.

The first category of Sino Thai bilateral trade is mechanical and electrical products.

According to relevant statistics, in 2005, Thailand imported 5 billion 940 million dollars of mechanical and electrical products from its own country, an increase of 43% compared with the previous year, accounting for 53.3% of total imports from China.

Among them, radio telephone, Telegraph and other sending equipment imported $760 million, an increase of 73.6% over the previous year, and automatic data processing equipment and components imported 650 million US dollars, an increase of 27.2% over the same period last year; the import of integrated circuits and microelectronic components increased by 370 million US dollars, an increase of 82.9% over the same period last year; the import of cable telephone and telegraph equipment was 260 million US dollars, up 95.6% over the same period last year.

Thailand international machine tool and metal processing machinery exhibition (METALEX) is the largest professional exhibition of machine tools and metalworking machinery in Southeast Asia, enjoying a high reputation in Thailand and even in Southeast Asia.
