In 2007, the total sales volume of Syria Textile Industry Bureau was 19 billion 580 million pounds (about 408 million US dollars), which was 3% lower than that of 2006 sales of 20 billion 200 million pounds.
Total exports amounted to US $120 million, up 6% from US $112 million in 2006.
The General Bureau of Syria textile industry includes all the state-owned textile companies in Syria, including 6 spinning mills, 10 home textile yarn weaving factories, 2 wool and carpet factories, 2 semi garment production factories, 2 underwear factories, 1 socks factories and 1 silk production plants.
