Cotton Farmers In Turkey Ask The Government To Subsidize Cotton Seeds.
According to Basri Z Z Oban, chairman of the national cotton Committee of Turkey, according to the domestic and foreign cotton prices and costs, the cotton seed price should be subsidized by 50 new lira YTL / kg.
Last year, fertilizer prices rose by 100% and fuel prices rose by 30%.
Cotton seeds should at least subsidize 50 new Turkey lira / kg in 2008.
He said that the amount of subsidy in 2008 will determine the future of cotton production in Turkey.

Cotton imports will reach about 1 million tons this year.
