To enhance the international competitiveness of export products, the China national quality inspection meeting held today requires the Chinese inspection and quarantine department to reduce the inspection fee of export textile and clothing products by thirty percent.

In response to the current international financial crisis, the sharp decline in external demand and the sharp decline in export growth of Chinese products, Wang Yong, director general of China's General Administration of quality supervision and inspection, requested China's inspection and quarantine department to continue to reduce and exemption the entry and exit inspection and quarantine fees for export food and agricultural products, expand the implementation of preferential measures such as green channel, direct release, certificate of origin, and recommend external registration, continue to optimize inspection and supervision, and make full use of the characteristics of China's electromechanical and light textile products in terms of high quality, strong adaptability and external demand, vigorously support enterprises to open up new markets, continue to stabilize traditional markets, guide enterprises to enhance self-protection awareness, effectively guard against international commercial fraud, and do everything possible to promote enterprises to expand exports.

Wang Yong also stressed the importance of strict import and export commodity safety clearance, and strengthened inspection and quarantine supervision on import and export of food, animal and plant products, industrial products, mineral products, as well as entry and exit containers and means of pport, so as to improve the detection rate of substandard commodities and toxic and harmful substances.
