Yesterday afternoon, Chen Genkai, Secretary of the municipal Party committee and director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal People's Congress, met with the chairman of the China Silk Import and Export Corporation, Zhang Weiming, Li Qihong, respectively.

According to the briefing, the China Silk Import and Export Corporation and the Guangdong silk textile group are the top 500 Chinese enterprises. At present, the two companies investing in Zhongshan include Zhongshan silk group, Zhongshan polyester silk factory, Zhongshan Gundam limited and Zhongshan Lai Bao garment industry.

Zhongshan silk group is one of the largest import and export companies in our city. It achieved sales of 3 billion 700 million yuan in 2007, and bought Building Maoming, Yangjiang commercial city and Zhongshan yuexai Road commercial city.

It is understood that the Zhongshan polyester silk factory will implement the strategy of sustainable development. On the one hand, it will invest 200 million yuan to pform the existing polyester filament production line, introduce advanced technology and expand the scale of production. On the other hand, it will cooperate with Sinop Guangdong Co., Ltd. to expand the Zhongshan foreign trade terminal and participate in port logistics business. The total investment of the project will reach 500 million yuan.

During the meeting, Chen Genkai and Li Qihong said that Zhongshan very much welcomed the increase in investment in Zhongshan by the China Silk Import and Export Corporation and the Guangdong silk textile group, and would give full support to the implementation of specific projects.
