A few days ago, the 2008 China Leather Development Forum was held in our province.

On the forum, Wu Huachun, chairman of Xingye leather, introduced the development status of leather industry in Fujian.

In 2007, the province's leather products industry above more than 1000 enterprises, completed the total industrial output value of 83 billion 560 million yuan, ranking third in the same industry, achieved product sales rate of 98%, higher than the national average level of the industry.

Yang Chengjie, President of the China leather and footwear industry research institute, believes that China is a big producer of leather and shoes in the world, but it is not a strong country in leather industry.

Yang Chengjie said that the current world economy and capital markets have undergone major changes. The traditional industrial structure and development mode of the leather industry is hard to win the commanding heights of the new round of development.

Yang Chengjie said that in the past 30 years of reform and opening up, leather industry has developed rapidly and has become the world's largest leather country.

　　首先，是認識上的問題。有人稱“皮革行業(yè)是夕陽產(chǎn)業(yè)”。對此楊承杰認為，皮革業(yè)是人類永恒的產(chǎn)業(yè)，是生活中不可缺少的產(chǎn)業(yè)，皮革業(yè)有存在的必要性。

　　其次，有人士認為“皮革業(yè)是一個污染重而又不可治理的產(chǎn)業(yè)”。對此他認為，皮革行業(yè)雖然排放污染物，但總量不大，每年大約一億噸的污水排放?！氨仍旒埖?00多億噸，食品業(yè)的30多億噸，要小得多?！彼f，“皮革業(yè)的污水排放量只占全國工業(yè)污水排放總量的0.47%，就是因為現(xiàn)今皮革業(yè)污水處理技術(shù)的日益成熟。”

Yang Chengjie believes that the development trend of leather industry is shifting from "product quantity type" to "brand type".

According to the current situation of leather industry, Huang Jingheng, President of Hongkong leather chamber of Commerce, believes that the leather industry is facing five dilemmas: first, the economic downturn and the weakening of consumer confidence; two, the high cost of production and the high price of raw materials; three, the high demand for environmental protection, the increasingly stable green barriers; four, the consumption of raw materials and the unpredictable market direction; five, the maturity of consumers' professional knowledge and the increasingly stringent requirements for product quality.

For the current crisis, how to deal with the leather industry, Huang Jingheng put forward corresponding strategic recommendations on the basic principles and substantive actions to be taken.

In terms of basic principles, he mentioned that first of all, we should reduce production costs and manage and adjust the sources of raw materials, procurement strategy, warehousing and order matching, production process and equipment under the premise of maintaining or upgrading the quality of products. Secondly, we should enhance the value of leather products, and enhance the market value of finished products under the same conditions, including the relocation of sales targets. Secondly, we should open up new markets, new consumer groups, new product lines, expand sales networks, thereby enhancing the efficiency of enterprises. Finally, we must set up corporate image to cater to the current consumer psychology and advocate non-toxic production.

He put forward some suggestions on the implementation of substantive actions.

Li Dingfang, President of the Fujian leather factory Association, said that between Taiwan and Taiwan, we can integrate advantages and jointly establish a hub for sharing the Asia Pacific region to further highlight the international division and role of the region.

He believes that there are several advantages that can not be replaced in the leading areas of cross-strait economic exchanges in Fujian.

      第一個是地理關(guān)系。海峽兩岸一水之隔，最大的優(yōu)勢在于擁有豐富的人口資源，相互的配套產(chǎn)業(yè)鏈，整合這一區(qū)域資源優(yōu)勢，可以讓兩岸成為我國通向亞太地區(qū)和世界各地的主要通道樞紐，還可成為亞太地區(qū)經(jīng)濟發(fā)展的重地，進一步譜寫這個地區(qū)的國際溝通的地位和作用。

      第二是人文背景。閩臺同宗同主的血緣關(guān)系和同共識的傳統(tǒng)文化，是長期以來閩臺關(guān)系能夠緊密結(jié)合的基本因素。

      第三，經(jīng)濟合作。閩臺的經(jīng)濟交流合作已見成效，主要體現(xiàn)在五個持續(xù)：投資規(guī)模持續(xù)擴大，投資領(lǐng)域利益持續(xù)擴展，投資制式持續(xù)攀升，投資效益持續(xù)減少，投資貿(mào)易持續(xù)升級。臺灣已經(jīng)成為福建的重要貿(mào)易伙伴和進口來源地，臺商來福建投資越來越多，閩臺的經(jīng)濟合作中雙方互相有利益。

      第四，優(yōu)勢互補。憑借政策優(yōu)勢和地緣優(yōu)勢的條件，福建和臺灣貿(mào)易往來頻繁，從區(qū)域的基地整合角度來看，海峽東西兩岸的生產(chǎn)線、基地發(fā)展的階段和產(chǎn)業(yè)的結(jié)構(gòu)調(diào)整具有很強的互補性。
