He and Jim Leonard, Deputy Assistant Secretary for textiles and clothing at the US Department of Commerce, said they hope that special textiles in the United States will be more convenient to enter the Chinese market. Jim Leonard specifically referred to carpet and furniture decoration fabrics.
Aldo Nath pointed out that China last month, in response to other countries' concerns about its textile exports, decided to levy a 2% to 4% export tax on certain kinds of textiles.
