Indonesia Releases New Rules On Clothing Imports
The Ministry of trade of Indonesia stipulates that in the two years from December 5, 2008, the importation of 5 categories of garments, such as ready-made trade enterprises (registered importers), is responsible for customs clearance through the international airport or the 5 designated large seaports in Jakarta, Sanbao long, Surabaya, mindanlan and Makassar. The import must also be accompanied by the evidence of the port of entry.
The general importer may apply to the Ministry of trade for registration as an importer. Importers are required to report their import implementation to the Indonesian trade department every 3 months.
