If consumer goods are deemed to be unsafe or inconsistent with international safety standards, the Singapore standard, productivity and Innovation Committee (SPRING) can take off or prohibit the sale of products. Retailers and suppliers will also be fined 10000 yuan or up to two years' imprisonment.
