According to the Brazil government, Paraguay has agreed to raise tariffs on clothing and footwear products imported from non common market countries to 35%.

According to the Brazil news agency, after negotiations, Brazil and Paraguay reached an agreement in Brasilia.

The news agency quoted Miguel, Minister of development, industry and foreign trade of Brazil, as a statement to the press: "Paraguay has agreed to Brazil's proposal to increase import tariffs on clothing and footwear from 25% to 35%."

Vice Minister Emilio Jimenez said: "in view of the position of private enterprises in Paraguay, the government supports Brazil's proposal to raise common external tariffs on footwear and clothing."
