Recently, a comparative test of mat has been carried out. The problem of formaldehyde exceeding standard and decolorization exists. 50% of the mat samples are not up to the national standard.

The staff of the association purchased 28 items in the shopping malls and supermarkets as an ordinary consumer.

The samples were commissioned by professional inspection institutions to test the quality and safety indicators of formaldehyde, color fastness, lead and mercury heavy metal content.

The results showed that 14 mat samples were not up to the national standard, accounting for 50%.

Among them, formaldehyde content exceeded the standard of 3 samples, accounting for 21% of the national standard samples. 7 samples of color fastness did not meet national standards, accounting for 50% of the national standard samples.

There are 4 samples of fastness which do not meet national standards, accounting for 29% of the national standard samples.

Shenyang Consumers Association reminds consumers that they should try to choose a mat with no smell, and don't choose too bright or deep color mat.

The newly purchased mat should be washed in warm water first and then hung in the ventilating place to dry.
