Eurozone statistics released in March 27th showed that industrial orders in the euro area fell 3.4% in December 2008 this year compared with December 2008, down 34.1% compared with the same period last year. Industrial orders in the euro area have declined for 6 consecutive months, and industrial orders in the euro area fell 8% in 2008 December.

In January, the euro area intermediate product orders fell 0.5%, down 33.3% compared to the same period last year.
